Google Sync Recieves an Update -- Now with more Muscle

Google is currently on a role as of late - first the Nexus One update and now this; The new Google Sync update adds several functions that were previously lacking - surprisingly enough, the added features can be found in Microsoft's ActiveSync Application - who would have thought?

Back to the topic, Google's Sync software now allows users to remotely wipe their handset data. This is a must have addition, especially in the instances when mobile phone theft or loss occurs. Also featured in this update, Google's licensing Exchange ActiveSync. You may be asking, what does that mean? Put simply it means that you can now use it to either push email, calendar events and even contacts straight to your handset. Below is an added lagniappe (advantage) for iPhone users.

"By the way, if you're an iPhone and Exchange 2007 user in the enterprise and don't use Google Sync, The Apple Blog has a how-to that might interest you. They have a step-by-step tutorial showing how to remotely wipe an iPhone using Microsoft's Outlook Web Access service." -- Kevin C. Tofel [jkOnTheRun]
