With no mention at the Apple event today, many had thought the iPod Classic was dead. But we’re gald to report that Apple is still selling the 160 GB model at a price of $250. Oh, and the gallery of the ancient media player now features it with Genius Mixes, which they refused to include in the previous revision.
Well it definitely wouldn’t be Apple to release some new music playing devices so here are the latest 2 videos of people dancing around to funky music and playing exciting multiplayer games. And the one featuring the Nano shows people moving it around every changing cloths!
Watch the Apple iPod keynote from yesterday Apple’s iPod keynote was pretty cool, and they delivered on a lot of what we wanted. An iPod touch with a camera, an iPod Nano with a touchscreen and a brand new Apple TV. There’s nothing awful to say about the event, except that part when Steve rocks out to Glee. Good work Apple, have a cookie!
Unlike most people, I myself own an Apple TV at my home and I love it. I store all my movies and music on my iMac and then watch all the movies I want on my TV thanks to Apple TV. I was so excited to see the latest update because it was small, a good price, and finally had Netflix. As I was strolling through the tech specs though, I found that it clearly states up to 720p and nothing about 1080p!
So, what's the deal with iTunes Ping? “Jobs described Ping as “sort of like Facebook and Twitter meets iTunes.” You can follow your favorite artists to keep up with tour schedules and new album or song releases. You can also follow your friends to see what music they are listening to and downloading, or even what concerts they are going to.” — Ars Technica
Normally we have to wait months for new iOS updates but luckily this beautiful update is coming out way next week via iTunes as usual. It will feature Game Center, iTunes Ping and TV show/Movie rentals. You’ll be able to download it soon, but here are some things to know.
All iPod touche devices should be getting Game Center, Ping and Movie/TV rentals without an issue, but iPod 2nd gen (late 2008) users will still not have Multitasking, Bluetooth keyboard support or Wallpaper… but hey, it’s still a free update right?
This thing is scary small, and by scary small I mean you may accidentally pick it up and put it in your pocket on your way out the door, instead of your Phone. This thing is also really small… oh wait I already said that… never mind.
Steve says peopled missed the buttons but liked you could talk to you iPod Shuffle. So now we have the best of both worlds. For $49 you can have a digital music player for up to 15 hours.
This is a huge move for Apple in the music device world. The new iPod Touch is literally a iPhone without the ability to make phone calls. It’s going to be a new revolution with the ability to record HD video, edit video, Facetime, all on a device that doesn’t have to be your phone. if only they’d offer a 3G plan…
Yeah, this is a pretty big deal — I feel the iPod Nano has suffered from identity issues — being updated along with the iPod Touch and iPhone, but still using an out-dated form facter, like the Classic. Now the iPod nano features a tiny little touchscreen which you can flip by wiggling your fingers. it also comes in a bunch of colors.
Steve has stated there have been many bugs in the latest update and this will hopefully fix all those problems. Added to iOS 4.1 is HDR photos, HD video upload over wifi, TV show rentals, and finally Game Center!

Since Apple has created the revolutionary app store, they have had over 6.5 Billion downloads. That’s 200 hundred apps every second! This is incredible and proving the iPhone changed the way we look at our phones and applications.
How to watch the Apple Live Stream when not using a Mac It was a complete shock to everyone that Apple would be streaming the event live, and that it would be available everywhere. What sucks is the fact that the stream will only be viewable on an OS X 10.6 Mac or an iOS device (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad). Macrumors has you covered!
Well this is interesting. Apparently, Apple is going to be livestreaming its keynote event on its website tomorrow. But here’s the catch: you have to either be on a Mac, iPhone, or iPod Touch to view the proceedings. Your iDevice will have to have iOS 3 or higher and your bitten fruit computer will have to be running Snow Leopard. Get ready for your mind to be blown by some new wicked iPods and announcements starting at 10 AM PST tomorrow morning! Oh, and yeah, we’ll be following along updating you guys live!
No one knows what Apple will be announcing in the coming hours — but we do know one thing — these look pretty legit. You’re probably wondering what the deal is with the tiny touch screen, well that’s supposedly the new iPod Nano. A tiny 1.7” touch display with a headphone jack and a few buttons.
Also, the black front face piece is supposedly for the new iPod touch, featuring a front-facing camera in the middle (the other dot to the right of the camera is the hole for the ambient light sensor. Who knows what we’ll get, but lets hope it’ll be as cool as we hope!
