Ultra-Real Toy Story 3 iPad Painting - Video

If there’s one thing that blows my mind, it’s this — Self proclaimed iPad junkie, Kyle Lambert, has taken the time to create stunning works of art using nothing but an iPad and his fingers. This gem, which is a poster for Toy Story 3, was created in 3 hours. It’s hard to believe that someone can create photo realistic paintings, with their fingers — let alone on the iPad. Major props to Kyle. You can check out more of his work on his blog.

    iPad is Delicious - Video

Apparently, Apple’s phenomenal tablet is more than just magical and revolutionary. According to the Cupertino-based company and their Youtube channel, the iPad is also delicious. The part that’s really surprising is that on the Youtube video, there’s 2,012 “likes” and only 351 “dislikes” — we would have thought this video would be stormed by anti-Apple warriors by now, but it looks like iPad lovers can have their delicious iPad, and eat it too.

    Vimeo Announces HTML5 Player

In a big ol’ screw you to Adobe, Vimeo has announced the release of their brand new universal video player built on HTML5 technology. The new player is designed to work with devices such as the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch (or any iOS device, really) and on Android.

There's hidden code in iOS 4 for a Verizon iPhone and iPad 2

“One of our Apple sources has just informed us of something very interesting. Way down deep within iOS 4 is a pretty intriguing block of code. Our source says that the code queries the device, and if the device is either a CDMA iPhone or iPad 2, the device will auto-activate, thus bypassing the need for iTunes.”The BGR

Apple Releases iOS 4.0.2 (iPhone), 3.2.2 (iPad) - Kills Jailbreakme.com

It sucks for those of us who jailbreak our iDevices when Apple releases a new update but we knew Jailbreakme was too good to last for long. By disabling the PDF exploit used by Jailbreakme, Apple has caused many users pain. With the simple jailbreak method no longer in effect, I trust the Dev Team is scratching their heads and working hard to produce a new unlocking phenomenon for the general public.

Knock-off iPad and horrible Apple website clone will make you die a little inside

This is just cute. A very small company called Axon Logic is designing a p.o.s. tablet which they plan to release sometime in the future. The hunk of plastic is called the “Axon Haptic”, which is weird because there is no haptic feedback in the device at all. It also features a 1.6Ghz Atom processor, resistive 10” touchscreen with stylus, 2Gigs of RAM, 320GB Hard Drive, 1.3MP webcam, 3 USB ports and an ethernet port. Also there’s bluetooth and VGA ports for further connectivity — it has an un-fit price tag of $750.

Star Trek was using the iPad 23 years ago

Well, not exactly the iPad, but a device called the PADD. It was original because it relied on using software to interact with the user rather than hardware (like buttons and switches) which were the staple at the time. It truly was an innovation, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it had planted an idea seed in young Steve Jobs’ brain…

Apple Retail Stores Now Blocking Jailbreakme.com

It seems people have been doing a bit too much jailbreaking in Apple Stores since the launch of jailbreakme.com. Allowing users to jailbreak their iDevices straight from mobile Safari, this little site has spread the unlocking craze to many Apple Stores. So the Cupertino based company decided to take a stand and just block the site in all of its official retail locations. In this video, clever user IT Geek quenches his thirst for jailbroken iPads by using his Nexus One as a hotspot. My question is, How did he even get a Nexus One into one of Apple’s sanctuaries anyways?

Apple might be planning to launch iOS 4 for iPad August 16th

Not only that — but Apple may also be planning to launch a new iPod touch with a front facing camera along with iOS 4 for iPad August 16th, according to Portuguese blog MacMagazine. This isn’t surprising considering Apple has a past history of under-promising, and over delivering (in most cases), which is a good strategy obviously, but if these rumors surface as true, would the new iPod touch with a camera (and iOS 4) dramatically hurt the sales of the iPhone 4?

    Enso Announces 5 New Knock-Offs

Enso zenPad. Does that ring a bell? Well if it didn’t, you probably haven’t been following the cheap Android tablet story close enough. Basically, Enso was the company that first brought hope to humans of an actual cheap Android tablet. Back in March, they promised a $150 5” tablet that dissolved into vaporware. At least that time, their product was original, somewhat. Today, we dive deep into the world of knock-offs as Enso shows off 2 smartphones and 3 slates.

Microsoft is rusting - Also, Steve Ballmer still doesn't get the iPad

Microsoft is slowly starting to become irrelevant in the personal mobile computing market, namely smartphones and tablets. Apple on the other hand became top dog in the tablet market literally in a few weeks, and the sad part is Steve Ballmer and Microsoft still “Dont get it”. If you don’t get why your competitors products are successful, how the hell are you going to stay relevant? If Microsoft doesn’t re-invent the way they look at consumer products, they’ll collapse in on themselves like a dying star.

Are you still using your iPad, or has it gotten old? - Poll

So, we’ve all had our iSlabs for a while and it appears that quite a few people are beginning to grow distant from their new companion. Sure it was love at first sight — but personally — my iPad sits on my desk with Twitteriffic running, and once and a while I throw a podcast on. I have to admit though, when I retire for the night, I love to sit back and watch some videos or catch up on the news. I don’t regret buying my iPad, but I can’t help but feel uneasy letting it drift slowly out of my life — is your iPad getting old?
