Youtube is planning a movie rental service
“The movies won’t be downloadable, so you’ll need a live Internet connection to watch them. But the lack of a download capability isn’t as big of a deal as you might think at first. The recently launched Google TV platform, which brings YouTube directly to Internet-connected televisions” — Ars Technica
HTC Desire HD/Ace Shows Up on Youtube
Well, well. After getting the first leaked shots of the Desire HD, we have a video of the 4.3” beast! Specs haven’t been revised but we finally know what the whole exterior of the device looks like. Dual LEDs border the 8 megapixel camera and a bunch of soft-touch areas coat the back of the phone. Though this isn’t necessarily final hardware, I certainly hope HTC makes the back cleaner for the production model. Check out the video for the full walkthrough!

What if social media was thought up in the 1950’s? What if the Internet was a public convenience 60 years ago? Well, if that were true I’m sure Facebook, Youtube and Skype would have been at their peak, just like they are today. These are some really beautiful vintage ads for our favorite online service, created by Sao Paulo ad agency Moma. I want to know, if you could see a 50’s ad for a modern online service, what would it be? 4chan counts (I guess).
Life in a Day - A Youtube Film Documentary on July 24
This may be one of the coolest ideas I’ve heard in a long time and I regret not posting this a couple days ago when I found out about. But hey, there’s still time to film.
Life in a Day is a documentary filmed by you, the users, about what you’re doing today on July 24th. Once all the submissions are in producers Ridley Scott and Kevin Macdonald will select the best footage from everyone’s videos and make a documentary about it.

After releasing (useless but epic) 4K video streaming, Youtube has taken another leap of faith and given us the ability to embed HTML5 Youtube videos. Now, why would you want to embed HTML5 videos? Well, what if people visit your website on an iPad, or an iPhone? Well now your embedded videos will be compatible with all iDevices, and browsers supporting HTML5… Double rainbow in HTML5 rocks my sox.
Justin Bieber Becomes Most Watched Youtube Video Ever! Yay?
I would like to thank Canada for bestowing this great honor of having this kid become a pop icon in America… not. Justin Bieber has been having a great year and it just got a little better. It has been announced that Justin Bieber’s hit song Baby ft. Ludacris has become the most watched Youtube video of all time with 255,398,811 views as of this second.
What’s second place you might ask? It would of course be Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance followed by Charlie You Bit My Finger.

Youtube is full of stuff like this, for instance the Brittany Spears video from Chris Crocker — but now we have reached un-matched levels of absurdity. Meet 12 year old Jessi Slaughter who seems have the mouth of a sailor, and has been posting videos on Youtube defending against “haters”. The Youtube community has grown to have a “dislike” for her videos and she is known as “slut”, “white trash”, “whore”, a “baby”, and many other things among Youtube users.

YouTube has finally taken the plunge and decided to join the movement of un-necessarily high quality video. What I don’t get is the point. I usually watch YouTube videos in a video box the size of my palm, and when I blow it up to full screen — well… this is where it starts to loose me.
Youtube Now Serves 100 Million Mobile Video Views Per Day
YouTube saw its mobile video views grow by 160% in 2009, and this led them to one conclusion - make a better mobile app, and so they did. The new m.youtube.com was launched Wednesday afternoon bringing better video quality, and a better experience to all mobile devices. It’s all in the browser, so Youtube has every bit of control they need to tweak the experience as they move forward.

During the 4th of July holiday weekend, in a coincidental double whammy, while iTunes was having problems of its own, Youtube had a comment vulnerability exposed which in turn made a million Bieber fangirls scream in horror, thinking that their teen idol had died - or so that’s what a pop up on Youtube told them.
License Music for Youtube Videos at $1.99 per song
Ok, what 12 year old kid uploading a groin kick video is going to have a credit card to buy music? This makes no sense, but apparently it has happened, and we have reached critical level of absurdity. A new store called Friendly Music will be opening tomorrow to allow people to purchase music to add to their Youtube videos - because apparently owning the song already isn’t enough…
iMovie For The iPhone

Not only can you now shoot 720P HD video at 30fps on your iPhone 4 you can also edit it. This is huge for the Youtube generation and any kid who loves to make short films with their friends.
This is incredible and has, in a way, put Apple into a new market competing against products like Flip.
Cost-$4.99
Youtube Now Banned and Blocked in Pakistan
Oh god, what are they going to do! There is no more Youtube, and no more funny groin kicks and music video mash ups!
This is very frustrating day for the people of Pakistan for the sole reason that Youtube is now blocked. Prior to that, Facebook was blocked as well, so the public has been gypped of the two biggest social networks around. This is all due to “sacrilegious content,” which is a bit over the top - Read more
Video - AppleGirl is geeky and talented
If you’ve got 4 iPhones and some money to spare, then hey, you can be the next big sensation on Youtube too! Well, not really. AppleGirl’s got the looks, the vocals, the skills, and the geekiness that makes this all come together in away only she can.
On an unrelated note, at CES I brushed passed by Lady Gaga - literally less than an arm’s length away.
Old Spice Ads are full of Explosions
Yeah, it’s that guy from all those movies, otherwise known as Terry Crews. And he’s starring an action packed line up of ads for Old Spice body wash, directed by Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show: Great Job’s own Tim and Eric.
